The R.O.I. of Home Staging

London, Ontario Area

The average cost of staging a home is simpler and less expensive than you might think.  But is it a good return on investment (R.O.I.)? What results in the greatest return on investment for home sellers?

The following is a summary of the results of Home Gain's 2007 survey, based on the ten areas of home improvement identified by 2000 U.S. Realtors.

Odds are professional home staging will pay for itself, and then some!

In another recent survey of 4,000 real estate agents, 75% believe the kitchen is the most important home improvement area. A staging professional will provide solutions to maximize this appeal.

Another Home Gain survey conducted in August 2007 revealed that 48.91% of Realtors believed home staging would increase the overall market value of a property for sale by $5000.00 or more.

A Coldwell Banker survey on 2, 772 properties ranging in price from $229,000 U.S. to $4.8 million in eight major U.S. cities showed:

  • While the average home was on the market for nearly 31 days, staged homes sold in less than 14 days.

The staged home went for 6.4% more than the unstaged home.

  • Based on these statistics, you not only can sell your home quickly - and literally move on - but cover many of the costs associated with selling!! While every home is different and the real estate market is every changing, one important fact remains constant; an investment in home staging will always be less than the first price reduction.

"Home staging is the highest form of visual merchandizing for real estate."
